I'm excited to announce a surprise lecture class. This is the first time I’m ever doing this online. I don’t know when I’ll do it again, so take advantage now! This is a short 4 (lecture) class session held on Sept 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th. In November, we will return to our usual “Advanced Bellydance” class for this Monday night time slot. Info for that will be announced at the end of September.

This special 4-part lecture series contains no dancing. Rather than learning choreography, we’ll focus entirely on the business side of bellydance and the knowledge that can help you build a successful, long-lasting performance career. Whether you’re preparing to book your very first gig or you’re already performing and want to strengthen your career, this class is designed to teach the skills that are rarely covered in traditional dance classes.

One of the biggest surprises in the professional dance world is that being a great dancer is only part of the equation. The business side of our art is just as important, yet very few instructors teach it. As a result, many dancers unknowingly make decisions that can affect their careers for years to come.

My goal is to help you avoid those pitfalls, build a strong professional foundation, and give you the tools to create a career that is both successful and sustainable.

During this series, we’ll cover:

• How to find and book your own private events

• How to approach restaurants and establish long-term performance opportunities

• How to negotiate with restaurant owners and managers

• How to set boundaries with restaurants (rates, time dancing, cancellations, etc.)

• How to confidently negotiate with private event clients

• How to gently decline underpaid offers, or offers you wish to not accept

• How to clients hiring you again and again

• How to keep audiences coming back to see you

• How to establish healthy, sustainable pricing for your experience and market

• How your pricing decisions can positively (or negatively) impact both your own career and the local dance community

• How to navigate a competitive dance community professionally while maintaining a strong reputation

• What clients and restaurant owners are truly looking for when hiring a bellydancer

• Professional etiquette that leads to referrals and repeat bookings

• Common mistakes that unintentionally cost dancers future opportunities

• Contracts, deposits, cancellations, and other ways to protect yourself professionally

• Marketing strategies that actually attract paying clients

• Building a reputation that keeps your calendar full for years to come

• …..and so much more!

Many dancers spend years learning these lessons through trial and error. My hope is that this class gives you the roadmap I wish every dancer had from the very beginning, so you can build a career that is not only successful, but also professional, respected, and sustainable.

QUICK NOTE: Every dance market is different, and every dancer’s journey is unique. This workshop is designed to give you practical tools, strategies, and professional insight, but individual results will naturally vary.
