Angel Bellydance is a classically trained dancer of many styles including Classical Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Modern Dance (Limon and Graham techniques), Hip Hop, Latin Dance, Flamenco and Bellydance. She began her dance training in elementary school and was raised as a competition Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz and Hip Hop dancer. She then began her professional dance, modeling and acting career at the age of 17 and has had the privilege of teaching and performing in various cities and states such as New York City, San Juan (Puerto Rico), Las Vegas (NV), Orlando (FL), Denver (CO), Los Angeles (CA), Virginia, Maryland, New Jersey, Miami (FL), Austin (TX), and Washington DC.

At the start of her career, Angel began working as a professional dancer in Puerto Rican tourism and excursion shows in hotels, resorts, casinos and cruise ships through the entire island. Angel was then introduced to Latin Dance and learned through extensive training by the choreographers and directors of the shows. However, the show which had the greatest influence on Angel’s cross-over (Ballet/Jazz into Latin Dance and Flamenco) was with “Juan Carlos and His Latin Traditions”, which was (and still is) the longest running show in Latin America. She was honored to perform with them for 15 years while also traveling back and forth between New York and Puerto Rico. Throughout her performance career, she continued her dance training in Ballet, Jazz and Latin Jazz in the Broadway Dance Center (NYC) where she was a faithful student of world renowned instructors such as Jhesus Aponte and the late, Frank Hatchett. 

Angel's teaching experiences include teaching dance in numerous studios throughout NYC, Puerto Rico, Northern VA and now Central Florida. These studios include The Bronx Dance Theater (Bronx, NY), Central Park Dance Studio (Scarsdale NY), The College of New Rochelle (Rochelle, NY), Studio Bleu Dance Center (Ashburn, VA), Terry’s School of Dance (Alexandria, VA), Creative Dance Center (VA), Dance and Arts Masters Inc. (Vega Alta, Puerto Rico), Saffron Dance (Arlington, VA), and A Magi Bellydance School (FL). She was the founder and former president of Dance and Arts Masters Inc. In 2003 she was named "Teacher of the Year" at The Bronx Dance Theater in NYC.

Her more recent teaching experiences also include teaching master classes and workshops in several world renowned festivals and conventions, such as the Orlando Bellydance Convention (2019, 2022, 2023 and soon 2024), Art of the Belly (Ocean City, Maryland-2020, 2022, 2023), Bellydance.Vegas (Las Vegas 2019, 2022 and soon again in 2024), Migrations (Aution, TX-2022, 2023), DCBA (Maryland-2019). Angel has also appeared as a guest master instructor at other individual workshop events in cites such Miami, Las Vegas, Washington DC and more.

During Angel’s earlier years of teaching ballet and other western and commercial dance styles, she fell in love with Bellydance. She enjoyed years of  studying Bellydance in The Bronx Dance Theater (NY), Dance and Arts Masters Inc (PR) along with any workshop, master class or convention she could attend. After many years of studying this beautiful genre, she later added Bellydancing to her list of dance skills.

Angel’s performance career did not stop at dance. She has performed in countless international TV commercials for Budweiser, Dr. Pepper, Coors Light Beer, Sears, Goya, Pearl Vision, Vitamin Water, Ponderosa Restaurant, Don Q Crystal, Crysler, Medalla Beer, First Bank of PR and many more. She experienced television working small parts and extra work on “Law and Order SVU”, “Sex and The City”, “Dead Line”, and others. Her modeling career included JC Penny, Walmart, Sears, Cress Jeans, etc. Angel also enjoyed her time dancing and modeling in various Latin Music videos with major Latin vocal artists including Don Omar, Calle 13, Hector the Father, Zion y Lennox, Tito Nieves, Jerry Rivera, Fulanito, Jose Nogueras, Divino, Angel y Kris, and various others.

Currently, Angel performs regularly in the Central Florida area as a Bellydancer in restaurants, Orlando weddings, and various other public events and venues, as well as festivals and conventions across the United States and soon beyond.  She also teaches in-person classes (in Orlando, Fl) as well as online classes where she enjoys training dancers from all over the world including Australia, Thailand, England, Malaysia, Canada, Costa Rica, The Netherlands and the United States!

Angel has enjoyed every path of the performing arts which she has crossed. Her goal is to continue to cross much more. She has a big place in her heart to share her dance training with students and professionals all over the world! Not only does Angel Bellydance continue to teach dance, but she continues her own training and research to better herself...because the sky is the limit!
